OTHER STUFF:

I have a cat named Rothko who loves boxes, baskets and bags. She walks on my keyboard and rests on my journal, and she’ll give you a high five in exchange for a treat. I adopted her from an animal rescue in Brooklyn, NY.

My book THIS PUP STEPS UP is dedicated to Lucy, a yellow Labrador. She died in 2020 but she gave us all love, play, and protection. Here she is resting after chasing her bunny.

I grew up in Washington, DC, spent over twenty years in Maine raising my children (they are grown-ups), and now I am back in the DC area.

I love to do school and adult programs about poetry, the picture book, creative writing, research, the children’s book industry, the importance of diverse books, and the creative process.

I look forward to working with publishers to connect kids with great books through effective School Library Marketing. Connect with me on LinkedIn.
